In this lesson I went to our business teacher, Mr. Housell to ask him if I could film him for my video, and he agreed, therefore next tuesday I will film him. On Sunday, May 31, 2009, I talked to one of my IT teachers and he suggested that I choose an aspect of the business to talk about, therefore I will now be working on this and I will try to come up with some questions to ask the business teacher.

For the past week I have been working on my storyboard. I have finished coming up with three design for my story board. However I still did not chose my final plan because I need to contact CMU and Aljazeera to see if I was able to get an interview from them. Based on the answer they will give me I will be able to chose my final design. Other than that I have looked at some of the outsourced videos that other people want us to do. Amira and I, decided to do a video together. The video is an interview about how the Internet has affected the entertaiment. In today's lesson we wrote the script for the innterview. On Sunday we will be able to film the interview.

Presentation on Citizen Journalism

On Thursday, April 30, 2009, Dr. Roth, the dean of Northwestern came to talk with us about citizen journalism. He explained what citizen journalism is, which is where citizens pass information about events that they witnessed. He also explained the effect of citizen journalism on the world and on journalism and on passing the information to people. He also explained how technology has affected journalism and the different ways that people view the news. From this presentation I feel that I have understood what citizen journalism is and its effect on society and the economy.

Today we continued working with our chapter summaries and our investigation. Our chapter summary is due on April 26 and the investigation is due on April 28. In today's lesson I finished the chapter summary and therefore I will be able to work 0n the investigation.

In today's lesson we are supposed to start our chapter summaries and our investigation. I decided to work on my chapter summary today since it is very easy and simple to do. The chapter that I was assigned to is chapter 2A. Instead of reading the book, which will take a long time, we had to read the chapter summaries on http://www.wikisummaries.org/The_World_Is_Flat and then create our chapter summaries. Our chapter summaries can be made in a form of PowerPoint or a video. I decided to do a PowerPoint since it is easier to do and I was familiar with creating PowerPoint's. When reading the chapter summary I thought that my task was easy, however I have to do extra research to understand the key points that Thomas Friedman is trying to make. Today I worked on my PowerPoint and researched about the factors that he thought led to flattening the world. I am almost finished with my PowerPoint, I have a few more points to search. In next lesson I will be able to finish my PowerPoint and move on to my investigation.

This video is very informative about how technology has helped people from around the world to communicate with each other. It also shows how communicating has became easier.

This video tries to explore different was of communicating online other than Facebook and Myspace. This video is very detailed about the information it is trying to show. This video shows many different ways to communicate and shows how the internet is improving. This video is very informative and helpful.

Today we started our new project 'Flat Classroom'. In today's lesson we had a brief introduction from our teacher about this project. My understanding for the requirement of this project is that we have to create a video that reflects our topic and show the process of our work. We began this project by signing up in different websites, Wiki and NING. We also watched a few videos of previous work that can help us understand this project.
